El cuarto de hora más largo de un viaje siempre es el último. Y estamos ya a esa distancia justa de la primavera. Tras los últimos cielos grises obstinados, los pesados charcos de agua y la nieve que fue blanca pero ya no…   
El cuerpo nos pide llegar, sentirla, vestirla; y, entonces, decidimos jugar (¿a la primavera en la wii?) luciendo en “petit comité” nuestros primeros fichajes de la temporada.  

Apostamos por las asimetrías seductoras, femeninas, combinables; nos gustan en tejidos de calidad, que ofrecen buenos resultados y perduran más allá de la tendencia.

Denim, en shorts nuevamente, más boho, más sexy, más canalla: lo tenemos y lo mezclamos.

Colgantes con pedigrí, por su valor sentimental: celebramos en presente el aniversario de Maison Martin Margiela, recordamos aquel pasado y hacemos un hueco al futuro.

Nuestro rouge -intenso, excitante, glamuroso- como camuflaje: nos encanta.

Quarter to Spring

The longest quarter of an hour of a journey is always the last one. And we are already on the home strait towards Spring. Following the recent obstinate grey skies, the annoying puddles of water and the snow was white but not anymore…

Our body asks us to arrive, feel it, dress it; and, then, we decide to play ( the Spring game on your Wii?) showing off to a small gathering of friends our first purchases of the season.

We’re betting on seductive, feminine, and combinable asymmetric clothes; we like them in quality fabrics, which give good results and will last much longer than the trend.

Denim, in shorts once again, more bohemian, sexier, more bad girl: we’ve got it and we’re mixing it up.

Top-notch tights, for their sentimental value: at present we’re celebrating the anniversary of Maison Martin Margiela, we remember that past and we’re making a space for it in the future.

Our intense red is exciting, glamorous- like camouflage: we love it.

No hace tanto éramos niñas; sólo algo después, chicas; y, ahora, quizás sin dejar aún de ser quienes aparecen en las fotos guardadas, mujeres.     

Definitivamente, mujeres. Nuestra vida ha tomado el color rítmico y exigente de nuestro tiempo. Estudiamos, trabajamos, amamos, criamos, cuidamos, seducimos, organizamos, colaboramos, proyectamos… Los días se llenan, se acortan. ¡Todos los días!.

En esa dinámica inflexible cobran importancia infinita las pausas, los momentos, los espacios de libertad. Es cuando suena mágico aquello de: “¿Salimos?”. Es el momento de la distancia corta en que nos jugamos mucho. Y hemos de decidir sin tiempo de pensar.

Entonces, tras la ducha rápida, queremos un look fácil, sencillo, cómodo, natural; pero, al mismo tiempo, actual, sugerente, elegante, seductor:”off the record”. Para sentirnos,  además de estudiantes, profesionales, madres, esposas…, mujeres.

Yo, al salir de la ducha, elegí darle un aire más lady a mis boyfriends, mezclando básicos con detalles que suavizaran su apariencia, como el collar y los zapatos. El resultado, un look cómodo y femenino en el que los complementos nuevamente marcan la diferencia.

“Off the record”

Not so long ago we were little girls; just after that, young ladies; and, now, perhaps while still looking like those who appear in the photos we’ve ket, women.

Definitively, women. Our life has taken on  a rhythmic color and is demanding of our time. We stud, we work, we love, we raise children, we look after others, we seduce, we organize, we cooperate, we project… The days fill up, they get shorter. Every single day!.

In this inflexible dynamic the pauses become of infinite importance, the moments, the espaces of freedom. It’s when it sounds magical that question:”Shall we go out?”. It is the short distance which we play with a lot. And we have to decide without any time to think.

Then, following a quick shower, we want and easy look that’ s simple, comfortable, natural; but at the same time, current, suggestive, elegant, seductive:”off the record”. To make us feel like, as well as students, professionals, mothers, wives.., women.

I, on getting out of the shower, chose to give it more of a ladylike air for my boyfriends, mixing basics with details wich soften their appearance, such us the necklace and the shoes. The result, a comfortable and feminine look for wich  the accessories once again make the difference.

No es mi costumbre poner comentarios personales en el blog. Pero hoy voy a hacer una excepción.

Cuando llegué a casa esta tarde, de vuelta del colegio del niño, me di de bruces con la noticia de la muerte de Alexander McQueen. Evidentemente nadie esperaba algo así. Pero en este caso, la sorpresa dio paso a una emoción sincera, intensa, muy especial. Tuve la sensación real de que perdía a alguien próximo e importante. Indudablemente McQueen era uno de mis diseñadores preferidos, ya lo sabéis. Pero era algo más, difícil de definir: ¿un amigo?. Sin duda lo más amigo que se pueda ser viviendo uno en Londres y otra en Barcelona, y sin que medie conocimiento alguno entre ambos. Respeto, admiración, sintonía.

Quiero compartir con vosotros esa emoción en este breve y sentido IN MEMORIAM.
